A letter from Frank and Nancy Dimmock in Malawi

June 2003

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, thankful for your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now
(Phil. 1: 3-5).

Dearest Friends,

Wonderful letters of encouragement, gifts of baby clothes and supplies and money have all been used to share God’s love with the children in the Crisis Nursery. Twenty-two children have come through the program since we began in late October last year. Of those twenty-two, one was lost and his parents found the very next day. Two have gone home to heaven. Seven were babies or young children in nutritional crisis, but with relatives to care for them. (They were with us for several weeks, but once they regained their health and strength they returned home, with extra supplies of milk and soya porridge.) Eight have been placed with new families to love and care for them. And four remain with us, healthy now and waiting for their special families to claim them. Please pray.

One, Baby Moses, was placed with us as a 2-week-old back in November. He is now a strapping 6-month old and has staked his claim on our family. He is here to stay. Our older children were home from boarding school over the Easter break and we had a great time deciding on another name for him (since we already have one Moses in the family). We decided on Isaac, meaning “laughter,” and child of Abraham and Sarah’s old age! (Just after we decided to adopt Isaac, I got a letter from one of my school mates saying she was looking forward to becoming a grandmother in June!)

Each of these children is so precious, and we are so grateful to you for your partnership with us in their care. If you are interested in more information about the ministry you can go to www.ministryofhope.org.

This has been an incredible learning experience for our family, our church family, the community and even the government social services. God is using these needy babies to bless many lives and we give Him all the praise.

Sincerely in Christ,

Frank and Nancy Dimmock
