Lyle is teaching pastoral psychology
and serving as chaplain and counselor to students studying for
the ministry. He also critiques their sermons and worship leadership.
The Presbyterian Church of East Africa is in desperate need of
pastors. There are about three million Presbyterians and only
500 Presbyterian clergy. Some serve as many as ten churches.
Terry is essentially trying to find resources, especially scholarships
for students. It is a three-year program, and it costs $3,000
per year to educate a student for the ministry. There are many
young men and women eager to train for the ministry if scholarships
were available.
We believe in this work, for we know education eridicates disease
and poverty and chips away at the systems that cause suffering.
Furthermore, we take great joy in the knowledge that our student
clergy educationed in Reformed theology bring hope, enlightenment,
and Christian community to many people.
If you feel moved to contribute to scholarships for Kenyan students
at the Presbyterian College, checks can be sent to the Central

So, as our Kenyan brothers and sisters say, “This is the
day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Let the Christmas bells ring and all the world make merry.
May you have a blessed Christmas and a live in thankfulness for
all that God has done for you in Jesus Christ.
Bwana Asifiwe. (God be praised.)
