Dear Friends and Family,
Just a note to let you know that I am alive and doing very well.
I had hoped to send a newsletter before the end of the month,
but my schedule is starting to get crowded, which is complicated
by the fact that I cannot get to the Internet at will.
Yes, I am doing very well. I recuperated from both the amoebas
and proteus as well as from the toxic doses of medications I had
to take to fend off the critters. These days I have had some trouble
with gluten and I have no idea where I am getting it, so I ask
your prayers for my health, though I am really doing fine.
This past month has been full of trips to the milpa (trying to
earn my living here!), serving as ambulance and taxi as needed,
showing the Jesus Film at several of the missions around Frijolillo,
trying to get bars made for the back of my truck so folks won’t
fall out when I take those rocky curves at 10 mph, chasing noisy
lizards and killing large stray spiders that manage to make their
way into my home, and preaching my way across the presbytery.
Above all, I have simply enjoyed settling in to life here. It
is finally feeling like home.
Prayer requests
- For my continued health and particularly for healing from
celiac disease (gluten intolerance). Might you stand with me
in believing God that He wants to heal me?
- For my safety and guidance under the Holy Spirit as I visit
10 different churches in our presbytery during the next two
weeks, visiting and preaching and/or showing the Jesus Film
or the Passion of the Christ.
- For restored health of Brother Marciano from the Frijolillo
Church, who suffered a mild stroke two weeks ago.
- That I might be able to turn my attentions to learning Náhuatl
in the coming month. I am learning just by being here (and now
we are practicing hymns in Náhuatl for Easter!), but
I need to make time to sit down and do some studying as well.
- That I might be able to rest soundly at night. I have been
waking up in the night and experiencing what I call Satanic
interference. I know the enemy is not happy about my being here
or about the things God is doing and plans to do, thus the attacks.
Please stand with me as I put on the armor of God each night
and seek the Lord’s covering.
Thank you for standing with me. For your love, encouragement,
financial support, and above all your prayers. I send my love.
And, I promise to return in a couple of weeks with more news.
The love, grace, peace, and power of the Resurrected Christ be
yours in the meanwhile.
Susie
