Dear Partners in Mission,
Since January, when we last wrote you, we have been even busier
than usual. In addition to our work in the three congregations,
Henry has had additional responsibilities as he serves as vice
moderator of our presbytery this year. And Lotties work
on the mayors health council expanded when she was elected
to the regional health council for our state.
In only one month from today, we will be flying to the U.S. for
another interpretation assignment. We will be in the States from
May 30 until August 30, 2002. Once again, we will be based at
Mission Ranch (housing for missionaries provided by Austin Presbyterian
Seminary).
Our address will be:
607-A Bellevue Place
Austin, TX. 78705
(512) 474-8253
We will continue to access our email on a regular basis at haswell@uol.com.br.
As soon as we touch down in Austin, we plan to purchase a used
car. Then we must travel to Houston to visit Lotties only
sister, Debbie. She is in very poor health and looking forward
to our visit. We will also schedule visits to our son, Matthew,
in San Antonio and our son, Daniel, in Dallas. During the week
of August 49 we will be attending the Worldwide Ministries
Division missionary sharing conference in Louisville.
As you can see, we will not be able to work in a visit to every
one of our supporting churches. However, we will do our best to
visit as many as we are able to schedule. The time is short and
we are very busy. How can you help us? Please ask the church secretary
or someone on the mission committee to do the following:
- If you have a date that you would like to have us visit your
congregation, please let us know as soon as possible. Preferably,
contact us by e-mail or phone. (Snail mail can be unreliable.)
- Even if you cant schedule a visit from us, please send
us an e-mail telling us that you received our correspondence
and supplying us with:
- Your church phone number
- the name of your current minister and/or mission chairperson
- an email address for the church or an individual where
we can send regular updates.
- Your prayers and financial support have been so very important
to us. Please know that we are thankful to God for your faithful
partnership with us to evangelize Rio Grande do Sul.
For the glory of God and the joy of all peoples,
Henry and Lottie Haswell
