March 2004
Covenant Hospital
Mombin Crochu, Haiti
Dear Friends,
Greetings! Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ
our Lord! May we say how grateful and blessed we are to have received
your support and prayers for our work here in Mombin Crochu.
We are writing to let you know that beginning in early January
of 2005, we will be traveling in the United States for a time
of “mission interpretation” during which we will be
visiting churches and congregations. We would love to come to
visit your church to do a mission presentation if you would consider
inviting us. We will be available for worship services, minutes
for mission, Sunday school hour, after-church potlucks, or any
mid-week day or night church activities. We are very flexible
and can plan with you to suit your needs.
Although our interpretation time is still almost a year away,
time flies when we all are busy, and church calendars fill up.
Since we first started making plans, several congregations have
responded, and it appears that our schedule will be busy—Sundays
particularly are filling in rapidly. We would like to schedule
more mid-week visits, however. If you would like for us to visit
while we are in your area, we ask that you respond to us as soon
as possible.
Our preliminary travel plan is outlined below:
- January 9 -21, 2005—South Florida moving northward
- January 22 - February 6—North Florida and South Georgia
- February 8 - February 17—Central Georgia moving to
North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland
- February 20 - February 27—Greater Pittsburgh area
- March 1 - March 6—Central and eastern PA, NJ
- March 9 - 16—Ohio, Indiana, Illinois
- March 18 - 23—Southeastern Minnesota
Following Easter Sunday, March 27, we will make our way westward
to eastern Washington state.
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) does not permit us to receive
any honorarium for our mission interpretation presentations, but
inviting congregations are asked to provide our travel expenses.
If your congregation is interested in allowing us top share with
you, please contact us by email at mombin1@aol.com.
We would like to start scheduling dates in the next couple of
months, and will do so on a “first-come, first-served”
basis.
We would be honored to visit and share with you some of the work
being done by Jesus Christ’s Church—work in which
you are actively participating. We are truly grateful for your
continued support and prayer for Covenant Hospital and the people
of Haiti. May God grant His richest blessings on your ministries
and missions.
