A letter from Bob and Bobbi Snyder in Zimbabwe

August 2004

Dear Partners in Christ,

Warm greetings in the name of Jesus.

As we prepare to depart Zimbabwe 25 August 2004 for an extended assignment of mission interpretation in the United States, we can’t help but ponder some of the things we will miss.

  • Hugging Abednigo, an adorable 6-year-old boy from the streets of Harare who lives at Lovemore Home.
  • Weekly Bible btudy and prayer with the Lovemore staff. Praying and crying with them over the boys at Lovemore Home and the hundreds of thousands of other vulnerable children around the country.
  • Alice’s beautiful smile and weekly prayer time together.
  • The Reverends Nedson, Carlos, Candido, and Mrs. Banda, our leadership team in Tete province Mozambique. We will miss visiting the 50 remote village churches they supervise.
  • Warmhearted and abundantly gracious people, who always find ways to rejoice, even in the face of abject poverty, sickness, and oppression.
  • Women, and sometimes, men dancing down the isle as they bring their offerings to the Lord.
  • The amazing patience and love from Joseph and Selipha and Max and Judy.
  • The courageous pastors of Zimbabwe who fight for justice in the midst of so much injustice and oppression.
  • The incredible beauty of the purple jacaranda-lined streets in October.
  • The many wilderness and bush areas that have been preserved for wild life.
  • Never going to bed wondering if you made a difference that day.
