October 2005
Dear Friends and Family,
This is Caryl writing—the first time after a very long
absence! Though I have not started doing email regularly yet—I
wanted to write to all of you and let you know that it seems I
am really on the road to full recovery! I also wanted to write
to say a very heartfelt thank you also. You all have been so loving
and faithful to me over these past weeks. It is your support and
prayers and care that made all the difference and has me on the
right road now. Thanks to each and all of you.
In general I am getting stronger all the time. I’m up and
walking quite a lot—though I have to pace myself as the
endurance is not yet back. I continue to get some IV fluids because
of one of the medications I’ve been taking (I have to take
that medication for about three more weeks), and then I should
be relatively free again! My appetite is pretty much back to normal,
so the only challenge there is to eat the things that puts muscle
back on. It’s coming little by little.
I don’t yet know what the future holds. PC(USA) has been
wonderful to me—and has encouraged me just to concentrate
on getting well before looking at the future. So that’s
what I’m doing these days. God has been so faithful to me
in these past weeks. I don’t understand the “whys”
behind what all happened, but know that He will—and is using
it for something good—whatever that turns out to be. I can
hardly ask you to pray more than you have already—but would
ask when you can to pray about the future too. As anything becomes
clear, I’ll be in touch.
Please don’t email me on my personal email yet—as
I haven’t tackled that yet. My computer is still in Ghana,
and it will take me some time to get the email organized again.
I’ll let you know when that’s up and running again.
In the meantime, Dad gives me your emails that come through his
email address.
Thank you again for all your goodness toward me.
With love and thanks to you all.
In Christ,
Caryl
