Howdy Everybody,

I hope that you all had a great holiday with friends and family. I know that I did. I was glad to be able to see my friends and family. Over the break I got to go to the Chick-fa-la Bowl where the Georgia Bulldogs beat the Virginia Tech Hokies. I was there with my family and some family friends.

On Martin Luther King Jr. day, the house took the MITS {Moving in the Spirit} boys to the Atlanta Hawks basketball game. We got to go in early, meet the play-by-play announcers for the Hawks and then got to watch the game. I enjoyed getting to go to the game and seeing the Hawks win for once.

We also went to a place called Jubilee Partners. It is an intentional community that is Christian-based in its beliefs. It is located outside of Athens in the town of Comer. They help refugees that are coming into this country learn how to read, write, count money, and other useful things that they will need to get by in the United States. This was the community that the “lost boys” of Sudan came to when they came to the United States. They are for the most part a self-sustaining community. They grow their own fruit trees and vegetables. They also fix their own cars.

Until next month I remain,

Your Kelsey
