Email: Andy and Judy Carrick

The Carricks ended their service in February 2008.

Andy and Judy Carrick came under appointment as PC(USA) mission personnel in January 2001. They serve with the Reformed Church of Christ in Japan in youth ministry.

Both the Carricks are "mish kids," that is, children of missionaries. Judy was born and raised in Nigeria and didn’t take up residence in the United States until her senior year in high school. Andy was the child of Presbyterian missionaries in Japan and lived there until he was 18. "Growing up as a missionary kid in Nigeria influenced me to accept the missionary call as a natural response to my faith in and obedience to Jesus Christ," writes Judy. "As a 12-year-old I set my face in the direction of overseas mission work, and my college and graduate school training prepared me for this vocation."

The Carricks were living in Kobe, Japan, in 1999 when an earthquake devastated that city. In fact, they’ve been been living in Japan since 1993. Andy taught English at the Palmore Institute in Kobe and Judy was a homemaker while she home-schooled the Carrick’s four children. During this period Andy was also a "mission associate" with the PC(USA), but he wasn’t satisfied with his ability to reach out and share his love of Christ with students at the high school where he taught English, so he sought a post where he could bemore direct help the Japan’s churches.
