From July to December 1996, Kathy worked as an exchange teacher
at Carey Baptist Grammar School in Melbourne, Australia. Prior
to her assignment at Woodstock, she held various teaching positions,
including that of a substitute at Annunciation School in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, and at St. Pius X School in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
From 1973 to 1977, she taught at Cardinal Hinsley Boys High
School in London, England. She also taught English and Speech
at Gibbon High School in Gibbon, Minnesota, from 1972-1973.
In 1998-2000, Kathy took study leave and a year's leave of absence
to complete a two-year graduate program in interdisciplinary studies
at Wheaton College in Illinois, studying Bible and theology, intercultural
communication and educational ministry. Kathy holds a bachelor
of science degree with a major in English and American humanities
and a minor in speech and drama from Bemidji State College in
Bemidji, Minnesota. She has taken extension courses in English
at St. Peters College in Oxford, England. She has also taken
extension courses in German and linguistics at the University
of Minnesota. Kathy completed a three-year theological/vocational
program at the Christian Corps Training School in Minneapolis
and has studied at the Centre for Indian Literature in English
and in Translation at American College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.
In Mussoorie, Kathy attends St. Pauls, CNI (Church of North
India). She is a member of North Heights Lutheran Church in her
hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota.
