A native of Colombia, Guido holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in New Testament from the Seminario Biblico Latinoamericano in Costa Rica, and received his PhD degree from the University of St. Andrew's in Scotland. He served as a teacher, director, and principal of Presbyterian educational institutions in Colombia: the Seminario Teológico de la Gran Colombia in Bogota and Colegio Americano de Girardot; and as pastor of Iglesia Presbiteriana in Girardot.
