Time Warner meets with Presbyterians on human rights
issues
At the latest committee meeting of the Mission Responsibility Through
Investment members met with Time Warner representative Michelle Crozier to discuss
their progress around the development of guidelines for monitoring human rights
issues related to products produced for Time-Warner by vendors and factories
worldwide. During
the same meeting the committee also passed a motion to remove Citigroup from
the list of corporations that stemmed from the 2004 (216th) General Assembly.
MRTI
also announced that Target Stores is the first retailer to announce its plans
to remove Manhunt Two, an extremely violent video game, from its shelves. Members
of the committee, working through Interfaith Center on Corporate Respsonsibilty
(ICCR) to achieve this outcome, commended Target Stores for taking this positive
step. |
