Belfast, Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is primarily
known for its tragic history of violence and prejudice between Catholic
and Protestant communities. These “Troubles,” as they
are commonly known, have left behind serious economic, emotional
and spiritual needs, particularly among the urban working class.
Volunteers will bring an “outside” perspective to
the communities in which they serve and will have the opportunity to see the
various responses from the church to community development, education and spiritual
formation. Volunteers will join together regularly for reflection, expression,
study, prayer and community building led by the project coordinator. College
degree or equivalent experience required. Program designed for young adults ages
21 and older.
