The Presbyterian Office of
National Health Ministries has funds available to assist
congregations and middle governing bodies in the development
and support of Care Team Ministry:
- Demonstration
Grants are grants that develop a new and different
health ministry program related to congregational care
teams.
- Training Grants
are grants which provide support, on a regional basis to support
costs associated with publicizing the training, duplication
of materials, conducting the training and participant and
leader travel to the training.
- Implementation
or Seed Grants are grants utilized by congregations
to begin or to formalize existing care team ministries.
- Resource Development
Grants are grants that support the development,
design and printing of health ministry related resources
designed
to increase the body of knowledge available to persons engaged
in and around the work of congregational care teams.

Church and Society Magazine
Encircling Care: Alzheimer's Disease and Congregational Caregiving
May/June 2003 issue. This issue draws the majority
of its articles from a national conference held in March 2003 entitled "Encircling
Care." It continues the conference conversation about congregational
caregiving, with a specific focus on older adults, particularly people
and families struggling with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias
(ADRD).
The journal focuses on difficult, life-altering
issues—the loss of the ability to live independently,
dementia, end-of-life questions, grief, choices about long-term
care. Yet the caring response of congregations, motivated
by conviction and concern and woven throughout these pages,
demonstrate the interconnectedness of our faith.
