| A budget for a parish nurse program is a very individual financial
projection of the cost and revenue that is anticipated in the
management of a parish nurse program. The suggestions noted
here are merely ideas of what should be considered. The amount
of money projected for each category will vary from region to
region and city to city. Each institution will need to project
the dollars needed for each of the categories given what their
experience has been with other developmental community based
programs.
The projected budgets are based on two different organizing
frameworks. The first is where the nurse is an employee of the
congregation and there is a contract between the institution
and the congregation for the nurse's services. The second is
where the nurses are not employees of the institution and there
is a covenant between the institution and the congregation.
The institution may be a health care system, school of nursing,
community based coalition, home care agency.
The following guidelines are provided for congregations considering
a paid parish nurse program and an
unpaid parish nurse program. |
