Joining Hearts & Hands
The Mission Initiative:
Joining Hearts & Hands is a five-year, $40 million campaign
to renew the church for mission. It is a sacred and crucial
mission; it is a call to action. You are invited to take part
in this vital work of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) by supporting
new church development and increasing our international mission
presence. Join with us in mission as we work towards Christ’s
reign of justice, peace and abundant life. Join us, not for
the sake of the church, but for the glory of our Creator God.

Extra Commitment Opportunities
(ECOs)
Every day we are in touch
with churches and Presbyteries across the country. Perhaps
a congregation is interested in partnering with a new church
and needs to know how to find the right match. Or a Presbytery
search committee is organizing to call the first pastor for
their New Church Development. Sometimes a Presbytery calls
asking what to do with the sudden influx of new neighbors into
a suburb or an existing church wants to know about nesting
multiple congregations under one roof. New Church Development
invites all of us to “think outside of the box.” We
will need new models for ministry – sensitive to the
wide variety of emerging sub-cultures and missional contexts.
We will need new avenues of funding outreach and development.
We will need new leaders, new dreams and visions and new energy.
