A new series of daily devotionals based on the award-winning Feasting on the Word lectionary commentary series will soon be available from Westminster John Knox Press. Daily Feast: Meditations from Feasting on the Word, Year B, the first of the three devotionals, will be released early next month. The series is edited by Presbyterians Kathleen Long Bostrom and Elizabeth F. Caldwell and features contributions by several respected writers including David L. Bartlett, Walter Brueggemann, Cynthia M. Campbell, Thomas G. Long, Barbara Brown Taylor, Emilie M. Townes, Frank M. Yamada, and many others.

Each day of the week in Daily Feast will contain Scripture passages for the coming Sunday from the Revised Common Lectionary, excerpts from the commentaries for reflection, a response, and a prayer. Additional material is provided for each Sunday. The volumes will be packaged in a soft leather-like cover with rounded corners, a stamped cover, and a sewn-in ribbon to help readers keep their place.

Sample pages, featuring reflections for the week leading up to and including the first Sunday of Advent, can be viewed by clicking here.

Feasting on the Word, on which the Daily Feast devotionals are based, is a twelve-volume lectionary commentary series that presents brief essays on each of four perspectives—exegetical, theological, pastoral, and homiletical—for each of the four Sunday readings. The series is edited by Barbara Brown Taylor and David L. Bartlett with a distinguished editorial board. The twelve volumes have recently been released as a CD-ROM.
