February 24, 2012

Louisville

From Gradye Parsons, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly: We have received word from Cindy Bolbach, Moderator of the 219th General Assembly (2010), that the pathology report from her recent abdominal surgery indicates a malignancy. Cindy will be following up with an oncologist in the next several days. Let us join in prayer for strength for our Moderator as she continues to heal from surgery and for a successful course of treatment. Well wishes can be sent to Cindy’s Facebook page, gamoderator@pcusa.org, or First Presbyterian Church, 601 N. Vermont Street, Arlington, VA 22203.

  12. Dear Cindy: On a religious website, the only way to the truth is this way: "Cancer S*cks." 20 years ago my wife heard words similar to those spoken to you. She put her trust and faith in the Lord, and in the caring hands of her medical team, her family and her friends; she sends you "get well" wishes and prayers this evening, as do I. Yes, "Cancer S*cks," so allow yourself to be weak, enjoy those moments when you feel strong. Rage in anger when you must, but most joyous more often. But, above all, be aware of the power of prayers being said for your recovery -- those coming from people you know but, most especially, those prayers being said by those whom you've yet to meet. Peace.

  13. Almighty God, look upon your servant Cindy with compassion and healing love. Give wisdom and skill to her earthly physicians and grant to her the sure heavenly presence of your Son, Jesus, our Divine Physician. Surround her with the love of family and friends and her many brothers and sisters in Christ. For we know, O Lord our God, that love is the greatest healer of all for love is at the heart of your Being. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

  22. Not bc we deserve it....bc only His blood contract makes it possible for us to call on His name...because of His blood, His compassion and lovingkindness we can declare that His blood covers Cindy from the top of her head to the soles of her feet and defeats every enemy. The Lord rebukes all her enemies and His blood is against them. And bc of His mercy, His grace and lovingkindness...and By His stripes she is healed!
