Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.),

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

At the Edler Garnet Hawkins banquet of the National Black Presbyterian Caucus on July 31, I announced that I will be convening the Moderator's Third Conversation on Unity with Difference in Spring 2014—dates to be announced—on the campus of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, with a specific focus on race, gender, and religious identities, as we engage the questions, "Who is my neighbor?” and What does it mean to be neighbor?"

I am pleased to share my remarks in their entirety with you.

Faithfully yours,
Rev. Dr. Neal D. Presa
Moderator of the 220th General Assembly
