The Presbyterian Historical Society (PHS) has welcomed Clorinda Moore as its new development associate. She began her new work August 13.

Kim Shiley, PHS director of development, noted Clorinda’s development background in an email to PHS staff announcing her hiring.

“Clorinda comes to PHS from her most recent position at the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, where she worked as membership coordinator,” Shiley wrote. “Her other development-related positions include the Mt. Cuba Center, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and Winterthur.”

Moore has a bachelor’s degree from Rider University, a certificate in Historic Preservation from Drew University, and a certificate in the Principles of Fundraising from Villanova University.

Moore will work alongside Shiley and Kristen Gaydos, PHS development and communications assistant, to “plan and implement PHS’s annual fundraising plan with a primary focus on growing annual support through appeals, events, and increased individual and congregational engagement and stewardship.” Shiley added that Moore will “manage PHS’s donor database, including gift processing and acknowledgement, research, analysis, reporting, data integrity, and security.”

Moore said she is already enjoying being at PHS. “As a lover of history, it’s a thrill to find myself at a repository of 500 years of Presbyterian history. I’m looking forward to working hard to serve all of PHS’s donors,” she said.

Organized in 1852, the Presbyterian Historical Society is the oldest denominational archives in the United States and serves as the national archives for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and many predecessor denominations. It exists to collect, preserve, and share the story of the American Presbyterian and Reformed experience with Presbyterians, the scholarly community, and the general public. PHS is a ministry of the Office of the General Assembly
