Nature of Work: A camp providing year-round recreational experiences for individuals with disabilities through our Respite Care and camping programs.
Group Specifications: Groups of 25 people maximum, 16 years or older individual volunteers and 18 years and older for year- round. Project Provides: Lodging and meals are provided while campers are here.

Nature of Work: Various mission projects could include serving meals at a soup kitchen, working at a homeless shelter, volunteering at a food bank, sorting at a mission distribution center, remodeling at a women’s homeless shelter, spending time with children at a community agency, maintaining a refugee/community garden. Some inner city mission work in a clean, urban area that is growing rapidly.
Group Specifications: Youth who have completed eighth
grade. At least one adult for every four youth: minimum number
in group is 5, maximum number in group is 15. Work camp week
runs Sunday evening through Friday morning during the summer
months. Mini-mission work camps also available. Cost is $10
per night per youth. Sponsors are free.
Project Provides: Scheduled mission projects and guided reflections. Flexibility to work with your group’s schedule. Interaction with First Pres members. Supportive staff dedicated to mission outreach. Housed in a beautiful downtown church with carpeted classrooms to sleep in. Air-conditioned plus use of a kitchen, shower, gym, DVD/VCR player. Grocery store, movie theaters, city parks and restaurants near-by. Shopping malls and Lincoln Salt Dogs (minor league baseball team). Mahoney State Park (water park, hiking, paddle boats, and horseback riding) and Henry Doorley Zoo a short drive away.
Additional Information: First Presbyterian is involved
in mission throughout the year. Active Sudanese ministry; partnership
with low income neighborhood elementary school; home to Head
Start and English Language Learners programs; forming congregational
partnership with Presbyterian Church in Chanaral, Chile.

Nature of Work: Work on Pine Ridge Reservation and immersion in Native American culture
Group Specifications: Group size up to 80; minimum age of 13, except for Family Week which includes a special program for 6-12 year olds (See website for details www.re-member.org) Cost $350.00 per person for one week. Dates for groups from March 1 to October 31, 2008.
Project Provides: Immersion into Oglala Lakota culture and life on Pine Ridge Reservation. Facilities include housing, staffed kitchen, showers, all necessary tools and materials, local transportation, Lakota speakers, craft opportunities and tours, including the Wounded Knee Massacre Site and Mass Grave. Work includes home renovation and repair, and manufacture and placement of beds in homes.
