Group Specifications: Group size: 5-18; minimum age: 16; adult/youth ratio: 1/8; receives groups year round; $50 per person per week (6 nights, 5 days) including housing and lunches; call to schedule— check calendar to see open slots.
Project Provides: Air condition; beds; food; gym; housing; kitchen; linens; RV hookups; showers; tools; training; washer and dryer; worship.

Ferncliff Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center

Nature of Work: Ferncliff is an active Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center located at Ferncliff is the national warehouse for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Regional Depot for Chruch World Service. As needs and resources permit, groups can work in the 10,000 square foot warehouse to help assemble, check, repackage, and prepare for shipping Gift-of-the-Heart kits. Groups can also be scheduled for additional service experiences at Ferncliff Camp and/or at various local agencies such as the Arkansas Food Bank Network, Little Rock Compassion Center, and the Jackson House.
Group Specifications: Group size: 10-25; minimum age: high school; adult/youth ratio: 1/7; $750 a week for the Ferncreek Retreat House that accommodates up to 25; receiving groups year round.
Project Provides: Air condition; beds; housing; kitchen; rv hookups; showers; tools; washer/dryer; swimming pool, labyrinth, lakes, 1200 acres, recreational options as available around other scheduled groups.

Heifer International – Heifer Ranch

Nature of Work: Heifer Ranch, one of Heifer International’s learning centers, provides education that promotes sustainable solutions to global hunger, poverty and environmental degradation. The Ranch offers several education programs from 2 - 3 nights up to 5 nights long. Program participants connect with a community that is actively working to end hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. Ranch programming is primarily educational and many programs include service projects. The service groups perform help maintain the Ranch so that it remains an active Heifer International community where people can learn more about working to end world hunger and poverty while caring for the earth.
Group Specifications: Adult/youth ratio: 1/5; Costs vary by program; contact the Ranch Events Office for specifics; Receives adult groups in the fall and youth groups in the spring, summer and fall; group size varies and is dependent upon selected program; minimum age: Youth groups—6th grade; Adult groups—18 years.
Project Provides: Facilitated educational programming, tools needed for service, lodging and meals.

Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home & Family Services

Nature of Work: We are a 90 year-old plus children's home. We have need for onsite repairs, building, painting, landscaping and more. Ask about opportunities for groups to participate in various arts/crafts/skills week with an emphasis learning skills in life, the home and the arts.
Group Specifications: Group size: up to 60; minimum age: young adult; Adult/youth ratio: 1/6-8; cost: housing is provided in our gymnasium

Dwight Mission Camp & Conference Center

Nature of Work:A camp and conference center with a 175-year history as the first mission school for the Cherokees west of the Mississippi River, Dwight Mission serves the Oklahoma Presbyteries with summer camp programs, and year-round retreat facilities.  In order to meet the need to make its rich history accessible to the public, Dwight Mission is undertaking the task of renovating the 90-year old school building for use as a museum, office, and meeting space.  To complete this project, volunteers are needed for carpentry, landscaping, electric work, painting, restoring floors, and general cleaning.  In addition to the renovation project, volunteers are welcome at Dwight Mission to help with general repairs and continued maintenance of the facilities and equipment.  As a center for mission activity, Dwight Mission can also help to organize mission projects within the Cherokee Nation.

Texas

DOOR-San Antonio, Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection

Nature of Work: DOOR-San Antonio is an urban exposure
and service program. Many of our service experiences are interactive and relational in nature. Your group might serve in a soup kitchen, play with homeless children or visit the elderly in a nursing home. Other service experiences, however, are more task-oriented. You might help in ramp construction, housing repair or clean housing units that temporarily shelter homeless families.  Both types of experiences are balanced through the week.
Group Specifications: Adult/youth ratio: 1/4-5; cost: $275 for one week, $95 for a regular weekend; receives groups year round; group size: 6-60; minimum age: 13.
Project Provides:Air condition; beds; food; housing; showers; tools; training; worship; t-shirt.
Additional Information: DOOR-San Antonio provides orientation material, housing (church/agency floor space), food, service opportunities, guided reflection and sharing sessions. Emphasis is on understanding the circumstances of poverty in an urban environment, its issues and problems, and reflections on the call to Christian service.

Fort Worth Urban G.A.P.s Program

Nature of Work:We invite SENIOR HIGH youth groups to come work with established social agencies and faith based programs in urban Fort Worth. Focus on meeting people and experiencing the circumstances of those who live in the gaps of our city. We facilitate opportunities for youth to deepen their Christian understanding and to explore their own gifts and passions (G.A.P.s). Mission opportunities include interacting with "the least of these" through yard work, painting, serving meals, food distribution, play group with children living homeless, and panel discussions about HIV/AIDS.
Group Specifications: Adult/youth ratio: 1/6; $125 per person; deposit required; receiving groups in June and July; group size: 6-30; minimum age: 14.
Project Provides: Air conditioned housing in church gym with air mattresses; kitchen; showers; tools; meals provided; t-shirts; worship; program runs for 1 week, Sunday through Saturday during most weeks in June and July; Saturday arrival also an option. Church mission staff and ministry interns provide orientation, debriefing and usher groups to work sites. We assist with facilitating daily reflection, discussing biblical themes, and group debriefing. Youth lead an end of week worship in our chapel.  Lots of local options for fun day (or half day).
Additional Information: Program has been running since 2001.

The Stewpot's Summer Visiting Youth Program

Nature of Work: For over 20 years youth groups have made a positive impact on the lives of inner city children and downtown homeless. The groups have been enriched in return. Groups serve daily in inner city soup kitchen for homeless and work as junior counselors at elementary age day camp. One week-long experience includes focus and applications in areas of urban ministry concerns such as domestic violence, homelessness, and aging.
Group Specifications: Group size: 8-14; minimum age:14; adult/youth ratio: 1/7; $900 per week and $100 non-refundable deposit. Receiving groups during the weeks of June 15 through August 3, 2008.
Project Provides: Air condition; beds; food (breakfast, lunch and one dinner is provided); gym; housing; kitchen; showers; tools; training; worship.
