The 219th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) may seem a long way off for most folks, but it feels right around the corner for those who are planning it.

One indication of the planning now underway is the release of the logo for next summer’s assembly. The design depicts the assembly theme, "Rivers of Living Water" (John 7:38).

"I used a soft, water-color approach to create the effect of water in the logo," said designer Andy Rector, who is a program assistant for the Office of the General Assembly and the General Assembly Mission Council.

The 219th General Assembly (2010) will meet July 3 – 10, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Some 1500 volunteers from the Presbyteries of the Twin Cities Area, Minnesota Valleys, and Northern Waters will help host the assembly.
