Resources for congregations counseling and supporting pregnant women facing difficult circumstances

Compiled in response to Overture 2004-10, Item 11-02: On Urging Churches to Affirm in Their Ministries the Protection of Babies in the Womb Who are Viable

The 216th General Assembly (2004) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) directed the Moderator of the 216th General Assembly (2004) and the Stated Clerk to send a pastoral letter to congregations on the issue of problem pregnancy. Accompanying this letter, we have posted four pamphlets consistent with the policies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), published by Women's Ministries, National Ministries Division:

The Statement on Post-Viability and Late-Term Abortion, approved by the 215th General Assembly (2003), is the most recent statement of the church's reproductive health policy.

For more information about PC(USA) policy on abortion, go to the Presbyterian 101 Web site.

For a PC(USA) resource on adoption, go to the Presbyterian Marketplace, Item #7265000001.
