| LOUISVILLE — Poets, prophets, evangelists, activists. The pulpit at this summer’s 216th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) will have them all.
The Rev. Susan R. Andrews, moderator of the 215th Assembly, announced the following line-up of preachers for this year’s gathering, which opens on June 26 in Richmond, VA:
Sunday, June 27 (opening worship) — Andrews, pastor of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, Bethesda, MD
Monday, June 28 — the Rev. Teri Thomas, pastor of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, a former general presbyter of National Capital Presbytery
Tuesday, June 29 — the Rev. Jin S. Kim, pastor of the Church of All Nations, Minneapolis, MN, and president of Presbyterians for Renewal
Wednesday, June 30 (ecumenical worship) — Bishop Thomas L. Hoyt Jr. of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, the president of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA (NCC)
Thursday, July 1 — the Rev. J. Barrie Shepherd, a retired Presbyterian pastor and renowned poet
Friday, July 2 — co-moderators of the Presbyterian Youth Connection: Patricia Massey, a student at Davidson (NC) College, and Nathan Ballentine, a high school senior from Tallahassee, FL
