Bill Coffin interview to air on CNN

July 1 show will feature thoughts on patriotism and peace

by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE — CNN television will air an interview with William Sloane Coffin, author of the Westminster John Knox best-seller Credo, on July 1 from 10-11 p.m.

Aaron Brown, host of “Newsnight,” will talk with Coffin, about his views on patriotism in light of world events and in anticipation of the July 4 holiday.

Credo is a collection of Coffin’s thoughts and opinions on peace and justice, which have both inspired and enraged Americans over the course of his 50-year career as chaplain at Yale University and Williams College and then as pastor of New York’s Riverside Church.

Credo is available at bookstores everywhere and from the Web site WJKbooks.com.
