   GAC goes south
      of the border

The Rev. Gary Cook, associate director for Global Service and Witness, handed out Taco Bell burritos and tacos during the GAC  meeting in Louisville. Among the recipients were council members B. Gordon Edwards of Stillwater, OK, and Judy Angleberger of Beaver, PA.

The giveaway was in celebration of last month's agreement between Florida farmworkers and Yum! Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell. The pact, which ended a four-year long PC(USA)-backed boycott of the fast-food chain, provides for a substantial pay raise and better working conditions for laborers who harvest tomatoes used by Taco Bell.
