| LOUISVILLE —
The Presbyterian Historical Society has announced that its 28th annual
Seminar on Local Church History has been scheduled for April 24-28 at its facility
in Montreat, NC.
The seminar provides
training for congregations in Presbyterian history,
oral history, writing a congregational history, managing and preserving
congregational records, exhibit planning, disaster preparedness
and tips for celebrating a congregation’s anniversary.
A scholarship
is available to a seminar participant who comes from a congregation
of fewer than 250 members that is at least 50 years old and has
a demonstrated financial need. The scholarship covers the seminar
fee and housing at the William Black Lodge at Montreat.
A second scholarship
that also covers housing and the seminar fee is available only
to a participant from a congregation in the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic.
The deadline
for scholarship applications is Feb. 15, 2006.
