News service will take a break
between Christmas and New Year’s

LOUISVILLE — After publishing nearly 700 stories during 2005, the Presbyterian News Service will be closed during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day — Dec. 26-30.

        PNS staffers Jerry Van Marter (502-472-5106) and Evan Silverstein (502-472-5160) will be on call in case a major story breaks during the closing days of 2005 or the first few days of 2006. However, the five-member PNS staff — which also includes associate Alexa Smith, reporter Toya Hill and copy editor/Web formatter John Filiatreau — will be using up accrued vacation time.

        Full-scale PNS operations will resume on Jan. 3.
