GAC takes action on 126 mission positions

LOUISVILLE — The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s General Assembly Council approved six months worth of international mission appointments and changes at its Sept. 19-21 meeting here.

The personnel actions — affecting 126 Presbyterians in international mission — included appointments, reappointments and extensions, as well as changes in service terms, conclusion of service and the retirement of John and Martha Butt, who have served as educators in Thailand for more than 23 years.

The Council approved the appointment of 21 new Young Adult Volunteers and six new teachers assigned to the Amity Program in China.

The actions, which covered personnel moves made between March and August of this year:
