Living Waters ministry approved as non-profit site on YouTube
Public service announcements, film featured
LOUISVILLE – Living Waters for the World (LWW) is tapping even further than it already has into the video world of YouTube.com now that it officially has its own non-profit channel.
The Franklin, TN-based Presbyterian ministry that helps provide clean water to places in the world that need it most applied and was given its own channel by YouTube, which features a smattering of videos produced by a range of individuals and organizations.
Via www.youtube.com/lwwmission, viewers can see ministry public service announcements and LWW’s new film, Clean Water for All of God’s Children, according to LWW administrator Steve Young.
“This allows us to put a comprehensive view of our mission forward, and increase awareness of the mission,” he said in an email sent to various LWW friends. “Each of our video pages and our channel page has links to our Web site for those who want further information.”
LWW, a ministry of the Synod of Living Waters of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), first began using YouTube in June when it posted a video explaining its work and encouraging people to join its efforts. Young said since uploading that public service announcement almost 4,000 people have viewed the clip.
Now, as a non-profit channel, LWW has the ability to accept donations on the site and on each of its video pages. Young said LWW videos also “will be among those featured on YouTube from time to time.”
LWW trains people so they, in turn, can train communities in a host of countries to establish their own clean water systems. Currently clean water systems have been installed at 164 sites in 19 countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Ghana and India.
The ministry also works here in the U.S., and its new Appalachian Network is addressing water issues in the Appalachian Mountains. |
