LOUISVILLE — Elder Rob Bullock, of Orlando, FL, has been selected as the director of mission communications for the General Assembly Council.

Karen Schmidt, deputy executive director for Communications and Funds Development, said, “Rob’s background as a very active member of the church, a story-teller, and a marketing strategist offers the exact blend of skills and life experiences we need to reach out to Presbyterians in the pews with the stories of God’s work throughout the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).”

In this new position, Bullock will oversee the development of strategies and messaging to communicate the full work of the denomination’s mission arm, with the goal of engaging Presbyterians at all levels of the church in that work.

“There are so many great things happening in the PC(USA),” Bullock said. “If we are going to find a way to unite as a denomination and fulfill all that God is calling us to do, we need to share those stories, to remind ourselves that we can do so much more together than we can individually, so that we invest our lives in the connectional work on which our denomination is built.”

For the past six years, Bullock served as vice president and founding partner of Covenant Communications, an international marketing agency serving faith-based clients ranging from small neighborhood churches to global ministries like Campus Crusade for Christ, Young Life and Wycliffe Bible Translators.

An elder and clerk of session at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando — one of the denomination’s largest congregations — in Central Florida Presbytery, Bullock has been actively engaged in Presbyterian ministry at the congregation, presbytery, and General Assembly levels.

He begins work at the Presbyterian Center in Louisville on April 14.
