PRINCETON, NJ – “Passion of Christ for Us,” featuring paintings by Philip Lee Smith, will be on display at Princeton Theological Seminary’s Erdman Art Gallery from June 1 through July 11. Smith, a self-defined “lover of beauty,” senses the poetry around us but needs paint and brush to express in physical terms his thoughts in visual images. The challenge to create – to add something to the beauty of nature – is fundamental to his painting. A scientist by education and a business executive by trade and education, Smith gained his training as a painter after retirement. An opening reception will take place on June 1 from 2-4 p.m. in the Erdman Art Gallery. The exhibit and opening reception are free and open to the public. For more information, call (609) 497-7995 or email coned@ptsem.edu.

RICHMOND, VA – Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education has begun a process of strategic planning, which will include discovering its institutional identity or “brand.” As part of that effort, the seminary is seeking input from the community, and has provided a website to facilitate that. A link on the Union-PSCE website labeled “Many Voices. One Future” will take viewers to a site where they can share thoughts about what is distinctive about the seminary and how it should be perceived.
