LOUISVILLE ― The annual conference of Presbyterian Men is all set for April 17-19 in Denver.

The conference ― “Challenges Facing Men in the 21st Century” ― will include worship, workshops, fellowship and a number of keynote speakers.

They include the Rev Jerry Cannon, pastor of C.N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC, and the Rev. William Calhoun, pastor of Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Denver.

Other speakers include the Rev. Richard Maag, mission coordinator for disaster recovery in South Louisiana Presbytery; the Rev. Amy Mendez, coordinator for Hispanic ministries for Denver Presbytery; the Rev. Samuel Park, pastor of Denver’s Korean Presbyterian Church; and the Rev. Ebenezer Yebuah, minister for education at Peoples Presbyterian Church in Denver.

Practical workshops run the gamut from “Challenges in Fighting Racism” to “Challenges in Disaster Assistance” to “Challenges in Mentoring and Tutoring.”

Participants will also have the opportunity to visit Newgenesis, a transitional community for Denver’s homeless sponsored by Central Presbyterian Church.

Biblical passages on which worship and study will be based include Philippians 2:14-15 ― “Do all things without murmuring and arguing, so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world.” ― and Hebrews 10:24-25 ― “And let us consider hew to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
