The devastation of Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma and Rita three years ago was unprecedented in the United States, causing more than 1,800 deaths and more than $81 billion in damages. Presbyterians responded immediately, both with funds and with mission trips to assist in the recovery efforts. They made a long-term commitment work alongside families in rebuilding.
Three years later, thousands have now gathered as the Body of Christ to serve one another and take part in the healing and restoration of the Gulf Coast.
Witness Christ’s love for the survivors of the hurricanes — watch a new video that shows how the long-term relationships formed over the past three years continue to transform houses into homes.

The clean-up process is complete in many homes affected by flooding earlier this year, but volunteers are still urgently needed to help in the reconstruction and recovery efforts. Contact the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Call Center at (866) 732-6121 or register online to volunteer.
