Short-Term Volunteers: Linking Partners in Mission Service around
the World Are you a Presbyterian with skills that
you want to share? Do you have time to give? Do you want to make a difference?
Are you able to make a witness as a Christian in a specific place overseas for
a period of three weeks to eleven months?
We have the program for you!
The International Short-Term Volunteer Program links qualified Presbyterians
to positions identified by our partners around the world. We will be doing this
by working with "Links" — organizations that will work with us to identify
placements and will communicate directly with our partners about people who are
available and places where short-term workers are needed. As we head into this
new program, our Links currently are:
International Presbyterian Educators Network (IPEN)
Universitas Kristen Indonesia Tomohon:
Presbyterian Church of Cameroon:
Amity Foundation:
Presbyterian Border Ministries:
Why is the idea of "linking" important?
As a way of realizing our love for the whole body of Christ, partnership is
how we do mission. The Presbyterian Church (USA) is but part of that body, and
we know that our work should be done in a way that respects our brothers and
sisters in other parts of the world. We do that by listening to what they have
to say. The Presbyterian Church (USA) wants to help connect you with our partners
around the world! We want you to experience the power of Christ's love as exemplified
in the connectional church. We are called to go out into the world to be examples
of Christ's love. Come and be a part of the body of Christ by doing mission in
partnership with other Christians around the world.
