Needs from recent hurricanes in the United States and the Caribbean have prompted a request from Church World Service to ask its member denominations to help replenish the supply of emergency Clean-up Buckets. 100 of the buckets have already been sent as well as 1,600 Gift of the Heart Health Kits.

Clean-up Bucket

1— 5-gallon bucket with sealable lid
5 — scouring pads
7 — sponges, assorted sizes
1 — scrub brush
1 — pkg. cleaning towels (reusable, like Easy Wipes ®)
1 — box dry laundry detergent , 50 oz.
1 — liquid household cleaner (like Lysol ®), 12 oz.
1 — bottle disinfectant dish soap (like Dawn ®), 28 oz.
50 — clothes pins
Clothesline, two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.
1 — pkg. dust masks (like Benchtop ®), 5 count
2 pair — latex gloves
1 pair — work gloves
1 — roll heavy-duty trash bags (33-45 gallon), 24 count
1 — bottle insect repellant (drops or lotion, not aerosol), 6-14 oz.

Packing and Sending "Gift of the Heart" Kits

• Secure the boxes with packing tape.
• Clearly mark the outside of the box with the contents.
• Include the name and address of the church, group, or individual sending the buckets at the top before sealing the box. (Do not include money in the box - see below.)
