Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is at work on your behalf, coordinating our church-wide response to the 2008 hurricanes. Your congregation’s gifts can help PDA meet immediate and long-term needs by establishing volunteer villages in Texas; caring for pastors and other caregivers; directing housing relief to Haiti and Cuba; and working with community- and presbytery-based long-term recovery programs.

2008 Hurricane Relief - donate nowAll of these efforts require your support. Volunteer your time and skills to help people rebuild and recover. Pray for all whose lives have been ravaged by these hurricanes. Give generously to help Presbyterian Disaster Assistance coordinate our denomination’s response to these storms.

Prayer in times of trouble

God of wind and water, stillness and storm,
your Spirit sweeps over the surface of the sea.
Give us faith to seek you in times of trouble.
Reach out your hand to us when we are sinking
so that we may believe and worship you;
through Jesus Christ, Sovereign and Savior.

(Matthew 14:22-33)

Clean-up buckets, hygiene and school kits needed

Clean-up buckets and other Gift of the Heart Kits are urgently needed in response to Hurricanes Ike, Gustav, Hanna and Tropical Storm Fay.

Volunteers needed in East Iowa

The clean-up process is complete in many homes affected by flooding earlier this year, but volunteers are still urgently needed within the Presbytery of East Iowa to help in the reconstruction and recovery efforts.
