Our partners in Indonesia have moved from the emergency response to recovery work in responding to the tsunami. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has sent an additional $2.5 million dollars to Indonesia to support the first stage of recovery work. An additional $2.5 million will be released in October.

We have been very honored to have seven of the Indonesians with us for the past two weeks working alongside our churches in responding to Katrina devastation in the gulf. This has been a time of learning for them as they begin to see how disaster response work is done in the United States and how the churches fit into the picture. We are pleased at the article in Christian Science Monitor covering their visit and encourage you to read it.
