Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Repair or replace defective equipment; reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them; check blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Maintain tool and vehicle inventory database.
- Move vehicles, trailers and equipment between locations throughout the Gulf Coast region.

- Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage small groups of volunteers
- Planning/logistics experience preferred
- Full range of physical movement
- Reasonably good health
- Clean driving record
This is a long-term volunteer position. PDA will provide housing, transportation for work assignments, tools and travel expenses, and a nominal per diem which covers food and incidentals. Applicants need not be Presbyterian but should be comfortable working within a faith-based organization.
