Worksite Assignment Managers Needed

 
     
 

Position Title:

Worksite Assignment Manager

Position Description:

Schedule the work for PDA work teams at sites that are in need of rebuilding, mucking out or other reconstruction projects

Essential position tasks and responsibilities:

  • Keep records of incoming teams
  • Prepare schedules for each week by the beginning of the week

  • Work with the construction supervisor and partners to obtain materials and tools available for worksite before a job begins
  • Provide village managers with addresses of worksites
  • Conduct safety training and ensure that safety procedures are followed
  • Keep statistics of sites worked and track work performed at each site
  • Liaise with partner organizations and develop relationships with potential new partners
  • Attend community organizing meetings and conduct research on rehabilitation activities (where appropriate, such as in the Gulf Coast)
  • Shop for village and worksite supplies as needed
  • Keep maintenance records for all equipment
  • Collect stories and photos about volunteers’ experiences for marketing purposes

Compensation

This is a long-term volunteer position. PDA will provide housing, transportation for work assignments, tools and travel expenses and a nominal per diem which covers food and incidentals.

 
     
 

Essential skills:

Strong computer skills, comfortable in camping environments, group leadership experience, diplomacy, clean driving record, prior volunteer work (preferably in disaster response and recovery work), sensitivity to other cultures, good physical health, patience and flexibility, good organizational skills, networking and diplomacy.
