Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has received numerous requests for youth to be involved in the Gulf Coast hurricane response. We are pleased to announce that a special program has been designed especially for youth to participate in the Presbyterian Volunteer Village experience. In addition, Father and Son weeks are being planned for summer 2008. Information is as follows:

Youth Weeks

  • Opportunity for youth ages 16+
  • Adult/youth ratio 1:5
  • June 22 - July 27, 2008
  • At one of the Presbyterian Volunteer Villages in the Gulf Coast
  • Team leaders contact the PDA Call Center at (866) 732-6121 or register online.
  • Work in the community may include rebuilding or cleaning, such as cleaning up a park or painting homes. There may also be opportunities to assist local churches with Vacation Bible School or other activities — being a witness in the community and helping the church grow.

Father and Son Weeks

  • June 8-14 and June 15-21, 2008
  • At one of the Presbyterian Volunteer Villages
  • Minimum age 14, with direct family male accompaniment
