Presbyterian Disaster Assistance staff in Louisville provided copies of Light Our Way, a resource produced by the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), to Virginia Tech. This resource with a purpose to inform, encourage and affirm those who put their personal plans and routines on hold to respond to disaster, was distributed to the American Red Cross Spiritual Care Providers and those in attendance at the Campus Ministers meeting.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance National Response Team (PDA-NRT) members Bobb Barnes and Jim Kirk attended a meeting of the Campus Ministers to finalize plans for an event to help students return to classes on Monday, April 23, 2007, and attended a picnic planned to correspond with the return of many students who left earlier in the week. Many students were eager to talk and share not only their particular stories as to where they were at the time of the shootings, but also eager to talk about the varied ways they are thinking and feeling about what happened and what the future holds.
