Temple University students assist with clothing closet — report from Colcord, West Virginia

Curtis Moore is the director of Good Samaritan Ministries in Whitesville, West Virginia.  Curtis, a Presbyterian, coordinates two locations of materials available for families in need.  He will be the first to tell anyone that this is not his ministry, but God’s, and people of many denominations are the volunteers that keep the stores going.

We received this note from Curtis about the mission team support:

I wanted to personally thank you for sending the work group from Temple University to help us at the Good Samaritan building…They set up about 40 clothing racks that we had and hung and sorted clothing on them. They also built shelving and sorted a bunch of shoes. It would have taken us weeks to do what they did in four days. They were a wonderful bunch of young adults and they accomplished so much. They were a blessing to our ministry…It's exciting that people want to come and help us with projects to help people in our community. I know God is bringing people together and great things are going to happen and I'm excited to be a part of it. I'm looking forward to working with you all every chance I get, so don't hesitate to call…

TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE THINGS HE HATH DONE.

This report was submitted by Joan Stewart, executive director of West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy & Workcamps (WVMAW), as part of the March 2009 WVMAW quarterly report. Read reports from the WVMAW ministry.
