ALL GOD’S CHILDREN

Caring for the Children of Iraq

What happens during a war?
Families leave their homes to find safety. They need food, tents to live in, and clean water. Many times they need medicine and help from a doctor. They are called refugees.

What happens to children when they leave home with their families?
They live in a refugee camp where everyone is a stranger.
They are not able to go to school.
They worry about their relatives and wonder if their friends are dead.
Sometimes they are separated from their families in the confusion and they wonder if they will ever see their mom and dad again.

What do children need and want?
Children want to be with their families, to feel safe, to have enough food and a bed to sleep. They want to go to school and have time to laugh and play. Sometimes children are afraid that they will die and do not want to be alone.

Can we help?
YES!
You can pray for children in Iraq.
You can make a contribution that can help children in Iraq and children in refugee camps.

What will our money buy?
Medicine for children
Tents for shelter
Food
HOPE

How can money buy hope?
Your money will help the churches that work in the refugee camps buy the children the things that they need to live.
Then the children know that they are not forgotten. They are not alone.
They have hope.

PC(USA) photographer David P. Young was one of six Presbyterians who traveled to Iraq in November, 2000, to visit each of the five Presbyterian churches there.

For eight days the delegation traveled from north to south, visiting in Baghdad, Mosul, Kirkuk, and Basra. Young found that everywhere they went people were willing to be photographed.
