Presbyterian chaplains are being called to minister to America's military and their families once again. Our chaplains have ministered to military members and families ever since the Battle of Bunker Hill. They are with most United States military units today.

In addition to the Presbyterian chaplains who normally serve on active duty in the Army, Navy, Air Force and VA chaplaincies, reserve and National Guard chaplains have been called up. Some of our chaplains will minister to military and their families at their normal bases in the United States or overseas. Many, however, have already been sent or are now being notified that their service will be with deployed military forces — mostly in Southwest Asia.

Please pray for our chaplains that they may be faithful in their ministries. Pray for strength for them and their families. Pray that they will not shirk hardship when they can bring the ministry of Christ to those around them.

As you pray for peace in our world, please be sure to remember our military chaplains who also pray regularly for peace and serve with units dedicated to bringing or restoring peace. As you pray for peace for our nation, please pray for those who would bring the peace of Christ to friend and foe alike.
