Convention on the Rights of the Child:
Information and Action Guide
This resource addresses the content of the UN Childrens
Convention and the failure of the US to ratify the Convention.
It includes Presbyterian social witness policy regarding children,
information on the Conventions potential impact on families,
suggestions for advocacy at the local level and worship resources.

reflects an international commitment to goals of equality, development

Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination
Against Women (CEDAW)
Adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1979 and ratified
by 161 countries, CEDAW has not yet been ratified by the United
States. It has been termed the international bill of rights
for women. The packet provides information on the Convention,
advocacy strategies, Presbyterian social witness policy, worship
and educational resources. Developed in partnership with the

World Conference Against Racism, Racial
Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance: Information
and Advocacy Packet
The World Conference (WCAR), taking place in South Africa in
September 2001, has the potential to be an important turning
point in the international struggle to end racism. The resource

be discussed, the conference process, the activity of the churches,
