This is the second year that we have given our share of the Pentecost Offering to our local YMCA. We live in a small town, a rural area with very little for young people to do. The Y provides a place for them to go. It has a day-care center that provides all-day care and before- and after-school care. The many sports-related activities available include swimming, basketball, gymnastics, wall climbing, and weight training. Computers are also available for children to use. As in other areas, the Y is struggling financially and does not have the ability to provide memberships for all the children who could benefit from its programs. The Y is very appreciative of the financial help from the Offering that enables more children to participate.
