The Mission & Outreach Committee of Christ Presbyterian Church gave their 40 percent of the Pentecost Offering to the Ellwood City Area Public Library for their children’s reading program. The library offers a free summer reading program for over 140 children in the community from preschool to grade six. The program has stories, crafts, and games, organized around a theme. The children enjoy being with other children as they practice reading in an enjoyable atmosphere. The library also offers story hours for babies and parents. Donations and limited state funding support these reading programs. The library was very grateful for the donation from the Pentecost Offering.
