Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church’s portion of the Pentecost Offering supports the Athens Regional Attention Home—a spacious, warm, and safe place to nurture teens during crisis. There are 32 “safe places” in a six-county area that serve as doors through which troubled teens can enter the home. The staff works with schools to educate teens about the home and to encourage their involvement in the Peer Educators and Teen Board programs. The home offers youth a way off the streets and provides them with basic necessities, a safe environment, and counseling services.
